The beauty box is a monthly subscription service by look fantastic.co.uk. The box is filled with high end beauty goodies (RRP- £65) and is always pretty varied. You can pay £15 for a one off box or pick a subscription plan and the box will be posted to you at the start of every month.
Maybe it’s me, but i LOVE receiving post, particularly surprises and particularly beauty products so this box is a favourite every month.
The June edition of the beauty box centres around the theme of Jet Setting, #LFJETSETTER Although it’s aimed for traveling treats, everything is still useful if you’re spending your summer at home.
The first thing you get in the box is the latest edition of ELLE magazine UK (RRP £4.10). It’s the compact travel size and is a good read with lots of different articles. While i find the fashion/beauty products displayed in the magazine are a little high-end for me, i always find it good for idea’s.
The second thing i got in my box this month is the Dead Sea Spa Magik Beauty Balm BB Cream in the shade natural (15ml). I’m not normally into BB creams but this may have changed me. I find it smells like apricots, is super light and blends well, giving you a glowy, radiant but natural finish.
You also get the Mr. Blanc Teeth Whitening Strips. I love the idea of teeth whitening, but as i have pretty weak teeth i’m always super cautious as most products on the market just break down your enamel.
I tried the coconut oil craze and swirling coconut oil in your mouth for 20 minutes a day is a CHORE. These strips just sit on your teeth for half an hour- they feel a bit like sellotape but you get used to it- then remove the strips and wash out excess gel.
If you have stained teeth it will work just as well as whitening toothpaste or coconut oil. Meaning, if you drink a lot of coffee or red wine this will make your teeth whiter.
Next, the Cowshed Cow Pat Moisturising Hand Cream with grapefruit and coriander. I was so put off this when i seen the title of this, i’m not a fan of coriander at all, and cow pat? really? I did try it, and it smells quite spicy- definitely makes me think of autumn/ winter months rather than summer. It does exactly what a hand cream should do, keeps your hands super soft and at 50ml it’s a handy size to carry around with you.
The Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream was the star product in the box this month. If you’re spending time on airplanes and fighting with jet lag you’ll probably be thankful if this is in your make-up bag. I really liked this- despite not being an eye-cream enthusiast. The tube is 7ml but because of the kind of product it is, it’s really generous for a sample size.
Next i got the Korres Basil & Lemon Shower Gel. This product is 89.2% natural content and the bottle is 40ml- it’s the ideal size for a few days away. Despite smelling a bit like bleach, it is really refreshing and soothing on your skin.
The next product i’m really excited about. It’s the Tan Organic Self Tan Oil. Rather than a fake tan mouse or cream, it’s an oil so in theory it’s going to be light on your skin. The box also says there is no transfer which is also a big plus so you won’t wake up to orange bed sheets. I’ve not actually tried this, i’m trying to get a natural tan right now, so don’t want to add fake tan to it. It smells really fresh and is mostly organic products. If this product lives up to the box, i’ll happily be purchasing this!
The last product is my personal favourite this month. The Naobay Oxygenating Cream– it’s basically a facial moisturiser. I’d never heard of this brand before but i’ve fallen in love with this moisturiser. My skin used to be quite dry but it’s not at all now and my skin is also really sensitive but i’ve had no problems with this. It’s light but i feels creamy and luxurious, it also smells like chocolate orange. All round love this product. At £32.95 a bottle, realistically i can’t really justify that but it’s been a lovely treat for the past two weeks.
That is the June beauty box. If you like the sound of it you can purchase it at look fantastic . I love getting this box every month, there is always a theme and everything is always designed perfectly. There is so much thought involved it makes it a treat to open. The only thing i would say about this box is you don’t really get make-up in it so if you prefer make-up samples, this isn’t the subscription box for you.
I really hope you’ve enjoyed this post, if you subscribe to the beauty box let me know what you thought of them. Also if you subscribe to any other beauty boxes and like them then let me know, always on the lookout.
