I swear i was writing my June Favourites four minutes ago! Why is it when you get older, years seem to go in quicker? Maybe it’s just me…. Anyway here is what i’ve been loving this month!
Soap & Glory Kick Into Neutral Eye Shadow Palette (x)
I’m a lover of Soap & Glory make-up and this is one of my favourite palette’s ever. The colours are pigmented, blend really well together and every single colour is absolutely beautiful. Normally in a palette i find there are a few that i won’t touch but not this one. I actually prefer it to the NAKED palette. I normally gravitate towards neutral tones when i’m doing my eye make-up and with this palette you can create lots of different looks!
I’ve not tried the brush because i use my real techniques brushes and don’t really feel the need to use any other ones but it comes with a brush and there is a good sized mirror as well which is always a bonus!
Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Eye Palette (x)
This is from her soft luxe collection and that’s exactly how i would describe it. Soft, beautiful and is really high quality. The packing is a beautiful copper colour with silver edging and you get four different colours.
This is a really good everyday palette but there is one shimmery colour which means you can dress your look up a little. I use a base cream i bought from NYX and the colour lasts all day.
I love Tanya Burr cosmetics but this is by far my favourite eye palette so far. I love how there is tips on the back for how to use them if you’re relatively new to eye-shadow.
I’ve not bought the other new one from the soft luxe collection but i intend to go and buy it tomorrow because i love this one so much!
I got the pencil in my July lookfantastic beauty box and the Gimme Brow was a free gift in this months Glamour magazine. I don’t normally buy benefit but i did see some beauty bloggers were given the whole set by Benefit and it did intrigue me.
I have a good shape to my eyebrows but they are so thin and just won’t grow out. The brow pencil is so easy to use and gives a really natural effect. The Gimme Brow is the gem of the two, it does volumize your brows but it looks so natural which i think makes it so different from the likes of brow gels. I only got a 1g sample, i’ve used it every day for three weeks and i still have lots left- i’m definitely going to purchase this from Benefit. I can’t believe how good it is.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (x)
I’ve definitely been having a love affair with NYX (as is the rest of the UK right now) but my stand out product that i’ve been loving this month are the soft matte lip creams. I love matte lipsticks but i don’t always love the feel of them, i either find them too dry or too sticky but this feels so nice and light on your lips.
The pigment is great and you really don’t need a lot for it to stay on your lips for hours. There are so many shades to choose from, I have four right now : London, Cannes, Budapest & Stockholm. I’ll definitely be buying more shades in the next few weeks but they’re perfect for every occasion.
The Bodyshop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter (x)
I had kind of written of The Bodyshop as i hadn’t been in it in years but i saw Zoella mentioned this in her favourites last month (i think it was her June favourites…) and i really liked the sound of it so i gave it a go.
You have to put it on dry skin as it doesn’t work half as well if your skin is wet but oh my gosh, make-up melts away almost instantly! I can’t speak for waterproof make-up because i don’t wear waterproof mascara or eyeliner but just for make-up, it’s amazing! I genuinely wasn’t expecting it to be so good but it’s took so much time off my night-time routine because i don’t need to faff around with cleansers etc before washing my face! It leaves your skin feeling super soft and is really gentle on sensitive skin.
I feel like this product has been a revelation for me! I also picked up the oil because they were doing an offer in-store and i really like that too but if you’re only going to get one i’d recommend the butter.
Tanya Bakes (x)
The book i’m loving SOOO much this month is Tanya Bakes. I must admit i’m not much of a baker, i can cook really well but i cannot bake to save myself. I do believe it’s something you need to practise and as it’s not really very healthy to bake a lot, i dabble but that’s about it.
To be honest, originally, i only bought the book because it was the signed copy. However, i was in the mood to make the Chocolate orange cheesecake (I posted a picture of it in this post, at the end x ) and do you know what? It was so good. I caught the bug.
I’ve made a few things now including the gluten free chocolate brownie (which are amazing, who would’ve thought?!). It’s really encouraging me to bake more which i really do enjoy! Particularly right now i’m off university and i’m working 5 days a week so i need things to keep me entertained on my days off that aren’t going shopping or binging on youtube…
Jane The Virgin
I’m not massively into television series, i watch Pretty Little Liars & Suits in real time and binge Gossip Girl every now and then but generally that’s as far as it goes. I was looking for a new series- lots of people suggested Stranger Things but i think it’s too scary to watch myself… I wanted something on Netflix, something that wasn’t too long and i came across this.
It’s about a virgin girl who is accidentally, artificially inseminated and her world kind of tumbles into chaos. I’m about half way through and i’m really, really enjoying it. It’s relatively light hearted, funny and a really good way to zone out after a long day. I really hope the second half of the first season is as good as the first!
That’s the things i’ve been loving this month! I hope you enjoyed reading this post- i’d LOVE to know what you’ve been loving this month so please let me know in the comments below.
As always please check out my other posts and my social media is linked up to the left- i’ve made a new twitter specifically for this blog so please give that a follow!
