This wasn’t a planed post, i was browsing Boots the other week and noticed a new range of face masks. At only £2 each, i had to pick one up. I picked the Charcoal & Willow Bark mask which is a cleansing and purifying mask.
These masks are sheet masks, which i have been loving lately! I find them much easier to work with and they’re nowhere near as messy. While i love a face mask, i’ve never been too convinced that they actually do what they say on the packaging. I enjoy using them, it makes my skin feel nice but i’ve never been sold on what they claim to achieve.
This past week, the nights have been cold, dark & rainy. I was tired, my skin felt a bit clogged and i could feel a breakout happening. I was in need of a pick-me-up, so decided to have a bit of a pamper night!
When i first put this on, i could actually feel it working- to the point i thought i was taking a reaction to it. My skin felt warm and it was like lots of little pins and needles on my face. It’s strange for a moment but i used to it pretty quickly. In a weird way, i quite like when i can feel it because it makes me think something is working.
The packing instructs you to leave it on for 15 minutes and then massage the excess liquid into your skin. I was a tad worried the excess liquid would make my skin oily but i fought my instinct and did as instructed.
I was surprised how quickly my skin absorbed it, it didn’t feel heavy or sticky like i had anticipated and my skin felt pretty soft going to bed.
It was the next morning i noticed a difference, my skin looked clearer and brighter and my spot had virtually disappeared! I have NEVER experienced this with a skincare product before- it actually got rid of my spot overnight. If you think of a spot at like a 5 day process: day 1 is when you feel it coming, day 3 is at it’s worst and day 5 it’s gone. It was like i’d jumped from day 1 to day 4 overnight.
I was ridiculously impressed with this, so much so i rushed out to buy another and also bought another mask in the range to try out. This is probably the only face mask i’ve been sold on, and would agree it does what is claims to do. I would highly recommend these products, i’ve only tried one so far, hopefully the other masks in the range will be just as good!
Please let me know if you’ve tried this, or any other of the masks in the range. If you’re ordering any, let me know which ones you choose- the other mask i bought was the radiance & tightening but i haven’t used it yet. There actually weren’t many left in store- there are much more online.
Just as a little note: while i said i found the mask a little uncomfortable, i wasn’t in pain at all it was just a strange sensations. If you do find yourself in pain, you may be having a reaction to the product and should wash it straight off!
I really hope you enjoyed this post, if you did make sure to check out my other posts and follow this blog so you don’t miss another post. I’ll leave the links to where you can find me below:
