With so many beauty products on the market, unfortunately some are just not going to hit the mark. It’s so annoying when you’re disappointed in the quality of a product or you just don’t get on with it. Here are the products i’ve been disappointed in lately:
Barry M Coconut Infusions Gel Nail Paint £4.99
I’m attracted to anything with the term ‘coconut infusion’ so i picked this up to try, in the shade Paradise. The colour is fine, reminds me of Tanya Burr Penguin Chic, except watered down a little. I really hate the consistency, i found it gloopy and messy and particularly difficult to work with. So if you lack patience, this is not the nail polish for you. The polish chipped after an hour which is infuriating when you spend time persevering with it. I didn’t feel any benefit of the coconut infusion and was all round disappointed with it.
Collection Precision Contouring Crayon £3.99
I normally use powder when contouring but i wanted to try a crayon for a change. Collection is very much a cheap, hit or miss brand so i wanted to try a crayon before i bought a more expensive one. I found this to be a total miss. I’m very pale, so i went with the light shade but the colour seemed to disappear when i tried to blend and i just don’t have the patience to do ten coats. I’ve since bought a maybelline one which i get on much better with!
Nip + Fab Kale Fix Moisturiser £19.99
I got a sample of this in a beauty box and although i’d never tried Nip + Fab, i’d heard good things about the brand. This smells really nice, like cucumber and aloe vera. The texture however, is incredibly sticky and heavy on my skin. It takes ages to dry and is just really uncomfortable. It might make your skin soft but personally, i don’t think its worth it.
PS…Pro High Definition Mascara £3
For £3, i can’t expect much but i’m disappointed as so many people seemed to get on great with this mascara. I found it thick, clumpy, messy and just a nightmare to work with- as well as being a nightmare to get off. The more mascara’s i try, the more i love my No.7 mascara’s!
NYX Eyebrow Pencil £5
I think this is the first NYX product i haven’t got on with. I’m not sure what the brush is there for… it looks like the end of a hoover. The actual crayon feels a bit cheap, you have to really work with it for the colour to transfer and with so many other great brow products out there, why bother? I actually tried the finer brow pencil as well which snapped within a few days so i think i’ll be staying clear of NYX brows!
That is my disappointing beauty products this month! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products in the comments below, i’d love to know what you thought!
I really hope you enjoyed this post, if you did make sure to subscribe either via email or WordPress so you don’t miss another.
